A large sculpture work featuring symbols from various cultures. The work symbolically recognizes people around the globe and the individual spirit of the first African-American women to fly an airplane, Bessie Coleman. Coleman left Chicago for France in the 1920's to learn aviation. Her life and international spirit is a focal point and inspiration for art and culture. The sculpture is located in Chicago on the 39th St. beach at the lake shore.
